Bruce Willis stars as Russ Duritz, a successful image consultant whose life is suddenly turned upside down when he magically meets Rusty, Russ himself as an 8-year-old kid. Rusty is a sweet, but slightly geeky, awkward little kid who painfully reminds Russ of everything he hated about himself when he was a child-a pudgy, little cry-baby who was the daily victim of the school bullies-an image Russ has worked hard to overcome and consciously forget.

Dale R Starring Bruce Willis as an almost forty image consultant who is also a jerk. He meets a young boy who is his eight year old self and the plot thickens. The basic plot of “what would your eight year old self think of you at forty years old?” works here. Bruce Willis, for the most part, does a good job acting like Spencer Breslin, who plays his younger counterpart. The plot didn’t lead me to where I thought it was going, so I think that is a positive. The movie does start a little slow and drives home the idea that Willis’ character is a jerk a little too much. I think this movie is worth your time. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review PJ D Very «Capra-esque» affair in its plot and even style. I realize there’s not much revolutionizing in this flick but boy do I enjoy it. Great performance by Willis and the rest of the cast. Well directed. A guilty pleasure of mine? Nah… I don’t even feel guilty about this little gem of family entertainment. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/24 Full Review Eye C A really moving picture, with one of the most loving characters in this millenium, Rusty achieves to make his old himself becoming one horrible man into a very special one. This is one of my favorites movies. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/27/24 Full Review Giovanella R Awesome, i cant stop crying everytime i watch this. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/13/24 Full Review Michael W This Disney movie was pretty good. Bruce Willis, Spencer Breslin, Emily Mortimer, Lily Tomlin, Jean Smart, and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job in this movie. The story of the movie was entertaining and dramatic. It's about meeting yourself younger self and discovering who you were then to become better than you are now. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's worth watching. Don't listen to the bad reviews this movie has gotten, those people have terrible tastes in movies. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Jacob B One of the more underrated films in Bruce Willis's filmography, The Kid is flawed and a bit cheesy at times but Willis's performance, Spencer Breslin doing a convincing job playing his younger self, Jon Turteltaub's direction and an emotionally-moving climax more than compensate. Not bad for the third in a series of contractual obligation projects Willis did for Disney after the role he played in a planned movie's cancellation.
